Lisa Timbs began her study of the piano at the age of 6 but her love of the instrument began even earlier. Her musical journey led her through a Pre-Professional Music Course at South Downs College in Hampshire where she won the Edward & Dorothy Kilford Prize for Performance. From there she gained a place at Trinity College of Music but chose instead to read music at Southampton University. Whilst there she achieved a first in the performance element of her degree and was invited back to take up a post as piano tutor, where she remained for 11 years. Her mentor and inspiration for over a decade was international pianist and composer Clifford Benson.
Performance has always been an important part of Lisa's career, particularly as an accompanist, and she has had successful partnerships with a number of singers and instrumentalists. She embarked on a popular series of recitals of works for two pianos and with a mezzo-soprano colleague performed in Sydney, Australia, courtesy of Qantas airlines, following their success in a competition run by the Britain Australia Society promoting cultural exchange.
From a formal recital setting to the more relaxed environment of functions and weddings her repertoire is varied and comprises classical, jazz and modern elements tailored to enhance the atmosphere of any event.
